 Renee's Poem

I was built in 1924.
I am a police station.
People come in my rooms
to talk and solve problems.
I am made of brick
and my name is “Happy.”

 Nikki's Poem

I am a ring of beautiful patterns around me.
Everyday I show my big wonderful self.
People see me as the rainbow lighting in the sky,
And they see me and pray for what I am made for.
I look down at the street while I see people
Discovering my beauty in South Side.
So, come see me while I have my beauty and my ring of light.

 Shatia's Poem

I am the top of a building.
I once had bells.
Now people live inside me.
No crawling snails.
I love my building.

 Deidra's Poem

Windows, windows, looking out my windows.
When I look out my windows, I see you.
Windows, windows, looking out my windows.
If you look out of my windows you see me.
If the whole world looked out my window
You would see me.

 Steven's Poem

Day-by-day I tick and tock.
Day-by-day I look at the old brewery building
on 21st and a street called Jane.
Day-by-day I watch birds coo,
People walk down the street,
And kids play in the park.

 Arkeela's Poem

Hi. I am a star.
I am home on a wall
And I hold together a heavy wall.
But I cannot go with my friends
Since I am here for good.
But I love my job
And being seen.

 Briana's Poem

I am 102 years old.
I am a bank where people get money.
I have lights that shine on my face.
I am like a mansion.
I am a fancy and great place to be.
I like people in me to get money.
I have a unique pattern.
I live on Carson Street.
I am the PNC Bank.

 Unique's Poem

On Carson Street there once was a restaurant.
I need some help now.
Who wants to work for me so I can have a lot of customers?
We need help really badly so please help the restaurant.
The restaurant has really good food.
So if you come you can taste the good food
And say “Thank you, have a nice day.”

 Nautica's Poem

I am an old building
That once saw a young girl
Come in and take karate lessons.
I was lucky to have her.
It made more students focus on what they were doing
Because she was doing great.
But then my owner sold me and closed the karate store.
That made the students mad and upset.
They are still trying to figure out why the building sold
And why I don't have a DoJo anymore.
Now I have a store that sells clothes.
Well, at least I'm still standing up.
