 Brian's Poem

My building named Wagner really stands tall,
In any season - winter, spring, summer, or fall.
It looks like I'm wearing a party hat
Which at the top is skinny, but at the bottom, fat.
I sit all day looking at Brownsville Road.
Watching people hop and go like a frog or a toad.
My main entrance is like a circle, very round.
It stretches from the sky all the way to the ground.
I hope that I stand here until I'm 500 years old
Or until they let me stand proud, happy, and bold.

 Ethan's Poem

I was built in 1924.
My mission is to tell the officers where to go.
My bricks are inlaid with patterns and designs.
I have painted coping at the top of me,
And I'm much older than a T.V.

If I am ever torn down
My memory will still be here,
Even though no one cared.

 April's Poem

I am a long stretched-out bridge
and I have a wicked ridge.
I was built in 1931 and, yes,
people do take care of me
although some would rather let me be.
The Monongahela River has been flowing
beneath me for 12,000 years
But you know there are no bears in sight.

 Amanda's Poem

I'm a clock and I live in Mt. Oliver.
At one time I was broken,
But someone came to fix me.
Everyone looks at me when they either drive or walk past me.
I'm as big as a giant with his arms spread out.
I have four faces, each 20 feet high.
My four faces are like a giant dog,
Guarding the people in all directions.

 Alex's Poem

Hello, I'm an anchor plate on the wall.
I'm the one who doesn't make it fall.
It may look like I do nothing,
But I'm the one who really does something.
I am like a symbol of freedom,
But I keep things secure.

 Kyle's Poem

Every day I sit here
With pride for all to sense and see.
And as I sit I represent
The City of Pittsburgh as the sun sets.

I have a castle on top of me
And my limestone is as hard as can be.
I'm also on policemen's badges.
Perhaps you've seen them capturing wild savages.

 Laura's Poem

Tick Tock Tick Tock
I am a clock.
My smooth white hands glide across my face
Like a big white ship sailing across the deep blue sea.
I live in South Side near St. Casimir's Church.
I love to help people by showing them the time.
Sadly I cannot hear the church music anymore
Because St. Casimir's has closed.
Sometimes I get lonely - but I survive!
